Welcome to the Boulder Aikikai Website
Image Boulder Aikikai was established by Hiroshi Ikeda in 1980 for the study of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.

The dojo is affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, through the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba organization.

Boulder Aikikai is a federal non-profit educational organization and welcomes all students who can safely participate in our programs. All of our classes are open for free observation.

Upcoming Dojo Schedule

Here is the upcoming schedule for adult classes at Boulder Aikikai during Summer Camp:

  • Fri, 7/25. 6-7pm: Introductory Open class; 7:15pm Mat Loading
  • Sat, 7/26. No classes.
  • Sun, 7/27. No classes.
  • Mon, 7/28 - Fri, 8/1. 6-7pm: General class
  • Sat, 8/2. No classes.
  • Sun, 8/3. No classes. 10am Mat unloading

All other dates will comply to the regular schedule.

 
Beginners Classes
Image Boulder Aikikai offers a four month beginners class for people with no previous aikido experience, beginning in the first week of every second month (January, March, May, July, September, November). Classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm.

There is no need to preregister; please arrive at least 30 minutes before class on the first day to allow time for paperwork. Please wear loose-fitting clothing such as a T-shirt and long sweatpants; uniforms from other martial arts are also acceptable.

The next beginners class will start on Tuesday, July 1st, 2008.
