Boulder Aikikai was established by Hiroshi Ikeda in 1980 for the study of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.

The dojo is affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, through the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba organization.

Boulder Aikikai is a federal non-profit educational organization and welcomes all students who can safely participate in our programs. All of our classes are open for free observation.

Boulder Aikikai offers ongoing open enrollment for beginning students with no previous aikido experience during our weeknight 6pm classes (Monday through Friday). There is no need to preregister and you may start on any date. Beginning students will be welcome to attend any combination of weeknight 6pm classes and the Sunday 11:30am class.

It is our pleasure to announce Boulder Aikikai's 32nd annual Aikido Summer Camp in the Rockies, July 22-29, 2012. We are looking forward to another year of great training, building on the camaraderie and intimacy of last year's event, and on an environment in which we build bonds with new friends and old. We continue to develop our traditions of training, built on our time together of over 30 years, while looking to and creating our collective future.

Our camp will be held once again at Colorado Mountain College in beautiful Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Please watch for more details at the beginning of February 2012. Registration opens Saturday, February 18th, 2012.

We sincerely hope you will join us.
