 Boulder Aikikai was established by Hiroshi Ikeda in 1980 for the study of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.
The dojo is affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, through the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba organization.
Boulder Aikikai is a federal
non-profit educational organization and welcomes all students
who can safely participate in our programs. All of our classes are open for
free observation. |

Beginning Students - Ongoing Enrollment |
 Boulder Aikikai offers ongoing, ongoing enrollment for beginning students with no previous aikido experience during our weeknight 6pm classes (Monday through Friday). There is no need to preregister and you may start on any date. Beginning students will be welcome to attend any combination of weeknight 6pm classes and the Sunday 11:30am class.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before class on the first day to allow time for paperwork and basic orientation. Please wear loose-fitting clothing such as a T-shirt and long sweatpants; uniforms from other martial arts are also acceptable.  Kyu testing for all white belt levels, 5th kyu through 1st kyu, will take place on Monday, July 13 at 7:00pm. Please come support those who are testing by dressing up in dogi/hakama and joining us on the mat.
The deadline for putting your name down for kyu exam candidacy is Monday, June 22nd.
On Saturday, June 13th, there will be a tutoring meeting at 1pm followed by kyu pre-tests at 3:15pm.
