Boulder Aikikai was established by Hiroshi Ikeda in 1980 for the study of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.

The dojo is affiliated with the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, through the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba organization.

Boulder Aikikai is a federal non-profit educational organization and welcomes all students who can safely participate in our programs. All of our classes are open for free observation.

Boulder Aikikai offers ongoing open enrollment for beginning students with no previous aikido experience during our weeknight 6pm classes (Monday through Friday). There is no need to preregister and you may start on any date. Beginning students will be welcome to attend any combination of weeknight 6pm classes and the Sunday 11:30am class. 2015 is a very special year for us. It marks the 35th anniversary of the Boulder Aikikai dojo, the 35 years Ikeda sensei and Hofmeister sensei have spent together, and the 35 years so many of us have come together at the Summer Camp in the Rockies.

In recognition of our ongoing commitment to training here in Boulder for many years to come, we will hold our Summer Camp in the Rockies for the first time ever at our very own Boulder Aikikai dojo. Ikeda sensei and Hofmeister sensei will be our instructors for the event. It will be held Wednesday, July 29th through Sunday, August 2nd.

Further details and registration information are coming soon. Please plan to join us!
